Selena Anguiano’s career started with formal classical ballet training at age 3. A ballet, tap and modern dance student for 12 years, Selena transitioned to theatre at age 15 with a high school internship with the Dallas Theater Center, leading roles in award winning high-school productions, and performances as a troupe member of Planned Parenthood's Teen Age Communications Theatre (TACT), and Young Playwrights' Theater in Dallas.

She is privileged to have been involved in some of the most compelling and exciting productions and programs involving the arts and arts education at institutions across the US and globally including: the Dallas Children’s Theater; The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; Dancing Classrooms; England’s London Bubble Theatre Company; and concurrently, the Cultural Offices of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi of Sharjah, UAE, and iMan Management Firm in Dubai, UAE both under the auspices of The Little Art in Lahore, Pakistan.  

Her work over eight years at the start of her career in Washington, DC resulted in collaborations with no less than 15 tri-state (DC/MD/VA) arts organizations, including three that she helped found, and for which she achieved their IRS nonprofit status. During this time Selena also enjoyed working with renowned performing arts and media artists, and distinguished American and foreign political and government officials.

Selena is also published in cultural arts management journals and books in the Czech Republic. She created, directed and managed performing arts programming on the East and West Coasts through two exemplary youth-centric cultural and performing arts organizations. She built and managed two programs in Dallas, TX: a Lyric Theater and Opera Vocal Masterclass for undergraduate-aged students involving a seasoned Music Recording Artist, and a symposium for deserving and academically, but under-served, unacknowledged Hispanic high school females. She produced four full-length zarzuelas for a leading classical music organization in Texas, and over the course of her career, she has lead efforts to successfully achieve non-profit status for more than 10 arts and cultural organizations across the United States and internationally.

Selena’s arts management, producing and directing resulted in collaborations with Shakespeare Dallas; Orchestra of New Spain; House Party Theatre; and Cara Mia Theatre Company. Her arts consulting efforts, including fundraising, nonprofit formation and capacity-building strategies include collaborations with the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic; Prague Philharmonia, Czech Republic; Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture; New Texas Symphony Orchestra; Luther Center of North Texas; National Hispanic Financial Coalition; Undermain Theatre; Metamorphosis: A New Living Theatre, Artstillery, and Texas Can Academies, Ft. Worth. Selena is also an accomplished actress, with credits including theatre and film roles. In 2017 her art work was part of the Dallas Museum of Art's exhibition After Hours: Works By DMA Staff.

Selena is Senior Manager, Foundation & Government Giving at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She currently serves as Ambassador for the Metropolitan Opera's Live in HD Transmission series (9+ yrs); as a national Community Engagement Network Inaugural Advisory Board Member; as an inaugural member of The Dallas Opera Audience Development Committee; is a member of Actor’s Equity Association (20+yrs); is a former Board President of the Baltimore Little Italy Madonnari Arts Festival.

Selena received her education at the University of Dallas, the University of Southern Mississippi and City University, London, England.
